This seminar will address the recent real estate market downturn and the various Foreclosure Rescue Programs offered by Lenders. We will examine the responsibilities, limitations and obligations of the Settlement Agent who find themselves involved in such a scheme; how to identify them and what practices are illegal and unethical. At the same time addressing the specific prohibition of practicing law or giving legal advice as set forth in the Title Act and Producer’s Act. The consequences of involvement in the Foreclosure Rescue market will be thoroughly explored. We will review the threat of lawsuits, class action lawsuits, criminal charges and government investigation.
