The departing of one or more property owners in the chain of title can present serious concerns to the title producer. In this seminar we explore Decedents estates, including testate and intestate, holographic wills, fiduciary powers, expired estates, alien estate proceedings, taxes and genealogy. We will address the role of the title producer in the probate process and support that might be afforded to a client and/or member of the Bar. We will examine the use of technology to verify familial relationships and conduct genealogical research. Finally we will examine the risks posed by insuring titles derived from decedents estates and the proofs necessary to insure clear title.
