Land Treasures in the NJ Archives **NJLTA Seminar**

Product Description

A 3 hour CE program focusing on the Early Land Records (Colonial & Proprietory) housed in the NJ State Archives, which include the East & West Jersey collections.  A historical foundation will be presented, a description of how to access and use these records, followed by a discussion of the current efforts being made by the Archives in conjunction with the WJB to digitize the proprietory returns, surveys and warrants, so as to make them accessible online for the title industry, genealogical community, historians and other interested members of the general public.  Examples of 17th century land documents will be on display along with other related publications. Attendees will acquire a greater understanding of the historical basis for real property ownership in New Jersey and how that connects with current practice.
